Concept design for the conversion of the Bunkier Sztuki Gallery's roof in central Kraków and open disscussion about the PLATFORM
Curator: Krzysztof Siatka
The roof is out of bounds to visitors. Due to the tricky access, the majority of the Bunkier staff have not been on the roof, either. But the difficulty of the climb proves rewarding to those who dare to venture there: the remote space has incredible potential. Situated in the very centre of of Krakow, the space affords an unusual vantage point for viewing such nearby historic relics as the buildings in Szczepański Square, the dome of St. Anne’s Church or the courtyards of the neighbouring blocks of flats. At the same time, this is a secluded space, invisible from street level, ideal for rest or meditation – paradoxically – in a natural environment; sheltered by the leafy crowns of the mature trees on Planty outside.
Presentation and talk: Saturday, 1 December 2012 as the part of the project ANNA OKRASKO AND LATALADESIGN // THE PLATFORM Please join the disscussion!
